Last year, on Thanksgiving weekend, I was visiting my mom and brothers in my hometown and we decided to go to the local farmer’s market. It’s an awesome place to buy local items and produce, and you can find a lot of interesting items like shoes, hats, leather goods, candles… you never know what you’ll see as there are new vendors every week!
I picked up my last minute items I needed for Thanksgiving dinner, and while I was on my way out, I walked by a vendor that caught the corner of my eye. I stopped and asked “What’s this?”
I was greeted with a friendly smile and Rina, the owner of Buck Na.ked, explained to me that these were all natural, handmade soaps. I could see that she had a variety of different ones, and I proceeded to what each variety was good for. Two stood out to me the most, the one made with REAL beer and the one with the activated charcoal. I had never heard of soaps made with these ingredients before!
She had no problem explaining to me the benefits of the soap, my brother and I were so intrigued. Then, I suddenly remembered that I was SUPPOSED to be on my way to the exit, where my mom was waiting! ha ha… whoops! So, off we went.
About a month or so later, I managed to get Rina on the phone, where she shared with me her insights on soap making, different ingredients, new concoctions… we talked for a good hour and a half I think! It was like we were old friends.
These soaps are hand poured in small batches, to ensure quality and freshness. They are all natural and vegan, made with high quality ingredients.
There are different soap varieties for different needs. Oatmeal & Almond milk for dry skin, Charcoal & Anise for detoxifying and purifying, and Coconut & Lime for toning the skin, just to name a few.
Her soaps not only smell wonderful, but they look beautiful also. I love the rustic look to these soaps. You can tell they are handmade with a lot of love.
Along with the soaps, Rina also carries bath bombs, made with the same principle as her soaps, all natural and high quality handmade goodness!
She is constantly coming out with new recipes and products. One item I am particularly excited about is the Locks Loving Shampoo Bar, a bar wash for your hair! As someone who has struggled with scalp issues for years, and has tried nearly everything, I was crazy excited when I saw her mention this. I have never seen shampoo in the form of a bar before, so I find it very interesting! It’s still in the testing stages, and I am definitely looking forward to it.
Just knowing Rina and speaking to her the few times I have, I know that she loves soap making and is very passionate about it. From the first time I met her, seeing how she was very happy to educate and share information with me, I just knew she was awesome! And, well, around the parts I live, I don’t get that type of customer service! Ha ha… her products are wonderful, but her genuine sweetness is what makes her company so memorable!
If you’re looking for an all natural alternative to your personal grooming routine, or even looking for a wonderful gift for someone, I highly suggest getting them some Buck Na.ked Soap! They’ll even put a pretty bow and tag on it for you!
