With so many cosmetic companies nowadays, it’s hard to keep up with all of them! I am always on the lookout for new and exciting products.
Here are some makeup brands that you may not have heard of, but are quickly making their way into everyone’s makeup kits. Not only are their products amazing, but they have great stories too.

Amy Doan was always admired for her flamboyant style, including her makeup. She had started out selling the theatrical makeup that she used, but later on, wanted more control over the quality and selection of the cosmetics she carried. So Sugarpill Cosmetics was born!
Ever since Sugarpill’s infancy, the line of makeup was highly anticipated for its release, and once it was, it quickly become a cult favourite amongst makeup artists and hobbyists alike!
Their cruelty-free line is known for their bright and highly pigmented eye products, which come in pressed and loose powder form. Their loose powders are super sparkly and shimmery, with the Elektrocutes line carrying the most shimmery and neon powders I’ve ever seen.
The products that struck me the most were their lashes! They are amongst the craziest I’ve seen. They’re rhinestoned, glittered, and even webbed! My fave are the “XOXO” ones, super fun!

Melt Cosmetics
Created by Lora Arellano and Dana Bomar, their line was born from a dream of finding the perfect lipstick colors and textures. So they thought, “Hey, why not create them ourselves?”
Both very talented makeup artists themselves, the dynamic duo teamed up to create Melt. With their expertise and experience, they knew what would work.
Their lipsticks have an ultra matte finish, and come in a variety of vibrant and fun colors. Make sure to give your lips a good scrub before wearing any matte lippy, as they do tend to be on the drier side.
I’ve seen tonnes of photos of popular Instagram makeup gurus rocking the lippies lately, and we even saw Rihanna rocking “Space Cake” at an event!
Though they are a newer company, they have made a huge statement with makeup enthusiasts. Their products are often sold out! So if you see a color you like, you better get it NOW!

The Hungry Asian Cosmetics
Kae Reuss started a blog sharing her unique nail polish creations. It was a hobby turned business. She decided, after her job cut off her hours at work, to sell her custom creations, which her fans constantly requested.
With the support of her loyal fans, her business was a success!
Her polishes are hand mixed, all of them containing some form of glitter. Some bold and blingy, some with cute shapes like stars and hearts, and some with only a subtle sparkle. She is always changing it up, coming out with limited edition colors each season.
She is a huge fan of Starcraft, and “Zera” is inspired by the character from the famous game!
