Ardene is my go to for affordable accessories. They sell everything from jewelry, shoes, swimwear, clothes, and beauty items! (I believe that they are exclusive to Canada only, for my American readers who have no clue what I’m talking about!)
They always have promotions on different items, like 3/$10 necklaces, 2/$5 socks, etc. I was perusing their store one day, and saw that they had an array of nail polishes in really fun colours for 5/$10! This deal was so irresistible. I didn’t have to settle with just one, or two nail polishes, but I could get FIVE!
I chose five very bright and summery shades. One of my faves at first sight was this bright peachy-pink coral with gold sparkles in it called “Sugar Champagne”. It looked like it’d be perfect for the summer!
As soon as I got home, I tried out the Sugar Champagne right away.
The application was very thick and goopy, and bumpy. I thought, “Oh no! It’s gone bad!!” and was a little upset, as the colour was so pretty.
BUT…..
Once it dried, I realized why the formula was a little funny, the nail polish is a “sugar” textured nail polish!
Boy, was that a nice surprise! This is something I haven’t tried before, but I’ve seen pictures of Caviar nails and I’ve been wanting to check it out, and this sugar nail polish thing is similar.
I LOVE this nail polish now. The colour is very opaque, and it dries to a nice matte but textured finish. The colour is almost like a neon bubblegum pink on me! It really looks like a sour gummy candy… yum. I want some now!
Up close photo to show texture. This was after one coat. I went back after and fixed the spots I missed! hee hee…
I must say, I really love this colour and the texture! It’s a little odd, but I think it’s really fun!
How do you feel about the textured nail polish trend? Whats your favourite finish/texture?
