Lashes really complete your look and frames your eyes. Most women won’t leave the house with at least mascara on! It is the ultimate quick makeup fix. Here are some of everyone’s favorite mascaras, and what I personally think of them!
Maybelline Great Lash
You can recognize this iconic bottle from a mile away, and it’s a super classic go to mascara in my pro kit. I admit, this isn’t THE best formula for lengthening or thickening. But seeing as most of my clients usually opt for falsies when they’re getting makeup done by me, this mascara gets the job of blending faux and real lashes together, adding a bit of definition and leaving a nice and dark glossy finish to the lashes.
Lancôme DÉFINCILS
This is another big favorite amongst beauty lovers. I had to admit though, I didn’t like this one 🙁 I personally prefer a more volumizing mascara, and this was not it. Many people claim it is very defining and lengthening. I found it a little flaky, and couldn’t stand the smell of it!
DiorShow
Many makeup artists swear by this mascara. The extra large brush really helps to plump up your lashes, making sure to coat every single lash. The formula is creamy and more on the “wet” side, but dries and doesn’t run, smudge or flake during the day.
CoverGirl LashBlast
I love a good, inexpensive treasure at the drugstore! I wasn’t sure if I’d like this, as I’ve tried many rubber bristled mascaras before and had little to no luck. To my surprise, this brush actually coated all of my lashes and I found it did give great volume. The formula is on the creamy side, perhaps that’s how it managed to coat all of my lashes. I did find though, that this formula did flake a bit.
Benefit They’re Real!
I am kind of in between with this mascara. It produces great results, but I don’t like the finish. It makes your lashes kind of, “plastic-y”. I definitely saw lengthening and defining properties, so if you’re looking for major volume, this isn ‘t it. I find that with the plastic-y finish, it helps hold curl in place. So if you’ve got super straight lashes that refuse to curl, try this one out! A lot of my Asian friends love this one.
So there’s what I think of some of the most popular mascaras on the market today. I didn’t get great results with some, but I’m thinking of going back and trying them out with some of my new eyelash enhancer by Dream Lash and see what the results are. I can make almost any mascara work, but, like I said, I do find some better than others.

That benefit mascara really irritates my eyes, too. I will have to check out the Dior one – I like a really lash-fattening mascara ha ha.
Have you tried covergirl’ slash blast? Really good for a drugstore mascara!
The best mascara that I have tried is Gurlain Max Lash. Oh my. It gives you length, volume and definition. It’s well worth $30. Personally I think great lash is just as bad it was in the seventies.
