I did an overview of Waist shaperz and their products a little while back.
I just wanted to update everyone on my experience up to this point with the waist trainer.
I must admit, I haven’t been SUPER consistent with using it lately. However, there was a little period where I was working out 4-5 times a week, and I was using it during all of my workouts.
During this time, I didn’t really use the corset during my regular everyday activities, just when I went to the gym.

Benefits of Waist Trainers
So there is a bit of controversy as to whether or not waist training works. In my opinion and experience, I don’t think these waist belts are capable of “melting” away fat, no matter what the claims are.
I do find that they are capable of temporarily “shaping” the waist, even when not wearing it. Imagine a bra strap, after wearing for a certain amount of time, you still see visible proof/dents where the bra was, even after removing it for the day. Over time, you may develop permanent “dents” where your bra straps usually are. I think it’s the same thing for these waist trainers. It can temporarily “mould” an hourglass shape after wearing it. Of course, the more consistent you are with wearing the trainer, the longer the results last.
THE MAIN reason as to why I wore my waist trainer during my gym sessions was to reduce water retention in my mid section. I retain water mostly in my mid torso, and I did find that wearing the waist trainer helped “sweat out” the extra water a bit more in my troubled areas.
Isn’t it too restricting to wear during your workouts?
I determined my size was a size Large according to their size chart. I DID NOT want it to be too tight, as I knew I was going to be wearing this mostly during workouts. This is super important, to not get a size that will be too restricting.
When I got this in the mail, I immediately tried it on. Though I thought it was too tight at first, I found that the material and the structure of the waist cincher still allowed me to bend over, sit, and function normally while at the gym.
Waist Shaperz Customer Service
As for the customer service, I had questions about the different models, and the agent I spoke to via their online chat was super helpful and helped me decide on getting their 9 steel boned latex waist trainer in black.
If you have any questions about their products, definitely contact them, or refer to my other post here.
The shipping from the company was extremely fast. I think they are based in NY and I’m from Toronto. They sent out my package on a Monday, and I received it on a Tuesday via DHL. SUPER FAST!
In Conclusion
At first it was a little awkward working out with the waist trainer on. It wasn’t unbearable, but it took a bit of time to get used to.
I’ve tried other fajas from other brands, and I found the material and structure of them too restricting for working out. The boning would dig into my body and it was very uncomfortable for the purpose of exercise. They would gave me a more exaggerated hourglass shape, which is awesome, but since I wanted something for the gym, they were not suitable.
The WaistShaperz model I got was very comfortable to wear at the gym. It was just enough compression to tuck my tummy in a little bit, but not so much that I couldn’t bend. I also found that the boning was very flexible and it moved with my body when I bent over and such.
The only qualm I had, and this isn’t specifically with Waistshaperz, but all shapewear I’ve tried, is that it makes my back fat bulge out more. LOL! I have a large back, so I’ve never been able to find anything that doesn’t dig into my back fat and give me an upper back muffin top! So I would consider getting a vest model next time.
If you are looking for something that helps to moderately mould your waist and help get rid of water retention, I definitely suggest the model I got. It also comes in a variety of colours and prints.
