The Clarisonic Mias have changed the entire exfoliation game. But… is it worth the price?
Though there are lots of people who are big fans of the Clarisonics, I’m here to tell you my honest opinion:
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! Get a cheaper alternative and enjoy similar results.
I’ve never used a Clarisonic myself, but my family members have them. I’ve seen them in action, and to be 100%, I think they got ripped off.
I’m not saying the Clarisonic doesn’t work. I’m just saying, from observation, that I don’t think they work any better than cheaper alternatives.
If anything, I think my favourite, the Pro X Olay Microdermabrasion kit works better.
The brush head on the Clarisonics don’t spin, they oscillate. UMMM am I the only one that thinks a fully spinning brush head would exfoliate better?
Some people may find the full spinning heads too harsh, but I’ve only found that it’s provided me with positive results. Either way, I’m sure you can find an electric face brush that fits your preference.
Here’s a list of alternatives that are not only cheaper, but probably work just as well (if not better!) than the Clarisonics.
1) Olay Microdermasion Pro X
As mentioned, this is my absolute favourite one! I use this one myself and I can’t say enough good things about it. It features 3 speeds, and comes with 1 bristle brush head and 1 foam head brush. You also get a daily cleanser and a warming thermal polisher.
This comes with 3 brushes: A foam one, a gentle brush, and an exfoliating brush. It is also waterproof and USB rechargeable.
3) Wowlily Silicone Facial Cleanser
These silicone facial exfoliating devices are dupes to the Foreo. Some people prefer these because the silicone bristles do not harbour bacteria, and don’t need replacing.
4) Veatool Sonic Face Brush
Similar to the previous one, but has a longer handle for a better grasp on it, especially if you are using it in the shower.
5) Spaire Silicone Cleansing Brush
This combines the best of both worlds! It has a similar shape to the Clarisonic, but the entire machine is silicone. If you’re a germophobe, this is perfect for you!
The only downside: it only vibrates (like the Foreo-type brushes).
6) Etoli Face and Body Brush Exfoliator
This one comes with 4 brush heads: Foam, Gentle face brush, a messager head, and a body brush.
If you’re not into the vibrating and rotating heads, and prefer something more manual so you can control the speed and pressure, this is a good option. You can also get a separate one to use on your body, in areas that are prone to razor bumps, ingrown hairs, etc.
8) Zlime Sonic Cleansing Brush
This one is so cute! Its compact size is perfect for travel. It comes with a cleansing brush and a firmer exfoliating brush.
9) Lilian Face and Body Brush Kit
This one comes with 4 brush heads, 2 for your face, 1 large brush for your body, and a pumice one for your callouses.
10) Dual Sided Face Brush
This double sided brush will require a bit of manpower to use it, but it’s a great option if you don’t wanna mess with recharging/batteries. You’ll also be able to control the pressure/speed if you want a more gentle exfoliation.
CLARISONIC BRUSH HEAD DUPE REFILLS
If you got sucked in by all the hype and invested in the Clarisonic… I have a money saving tip for you:
THERE ARE CHEAP REPLACEMENT HEADS TO FIT YOUR MIA!!!
It looks like we only got to 10 Dupes and not 15…. but oh well. I’m glad I read this. I’ll be considering one of these soon ????????
