DIY-lip-plumping

Juicy, plump, pillowy lips are in, and not all of us have the desire or funds to get lip injections, or have the fear of having perma-duck lips. There are definitely ways to get juicier lips without going over the top.

Here are some tricks you can try right now that will plump up the volume of your lips

DIY Lip Plumper

Mix 1 tbsp of coconut oil with 2-3 drops of cinnamon extract in a little container. Apply to your lips and voila! Within minutes you should feel a slight tingly sensation that accelerates the blood circulation in your lips, resulting in a luscious looking pout. Be careful, the cinnamon extract is pretty potent, so if you are more prone to irritation, start out with less drops of cinnamon, and NEVER apply the extract directly on lips.

Lip Brushing

After you brush your teeth every morning, using a separate tooth brush that you’ve dedicated for this, try gently brushing your lips for 30 seconds. This not only helps slough off the dead skin, but it will also improve blood circulation in your lips. Since there is no dead skin on your lips, any gloss or lip balm you put on will be better absorbed into your lips, which I also find helps give them a more plump look.

Highlight Your Cupid’s Bow!

Next time you where lipstick, try highlighting the outline of your cupids bow with a light coloured eyeshadow. This fakes the appearance of a poutier upper lip, and is one of my fave tricks!

Lip Vacuum

Never heard of a lip vacuum? LOL! Check out this lip plumper that you can use at home. It basically creates a vacuum around your lips. You hold it for a few seconds, and voila! Your lips are plump. This works by stimulating blood circulation to your lip area. You can read what I think about it here.
