Drugstore Makeup: Items for your kit that you can save on

I love finding a good bargain! Believe it or not, you can find lots of great items at your favorite drugstore, and many brands are coming out with good quality makeup for cheap. If you are looking for some affordable makeup to add to your kit, here’s what you can add from the drugstore beauty aisle:

Lipsticks

Many drugstore brands have high quality lipsticks. Makers like Revlon and L’oreal are coming out with new formulations and updating their shades every season. Lipstick is one of those items you definitely don’t have to splurge on all of the time! Hooray for cheap lipstick!

Clear Lip Gloss

Some of the shiniest, longest lasting clear lipglosses I’ve tried were kiddy brand ones like Wet ‘N Wild and NYC cosmetics. They may not feel the greatest, but when you’re on set, a super stick gloss usually means that it’s super glossy and last longer, meaning less touch ups!

Lip Liner

This is another one of those items that you can skimp on and no one will probably notice. A good brand to look into is NYX.

Eye Liner

Looking for the darkest, smoothest black liner? One of the darkest I’ve tried is from Milani. It isn’t waterproof though, but check out this eyeliner trick to help it last longer! Milani also has a waterproof liner, but I haven’t tried that.

Gel Eye Liner

I’ve tried Rimmel’s and Annabelle’s gel liners, and both were very good. They both lasted, and my clients even followed up saying that it was super bulletproof because they had a hard time taking it off! That can be a good thing or a bad thing. But if you’re looking for longevity, look into either of these inexpensive makeup alternatives.

Mascara

I’ve tried high end and low end mascara. A lot of times, I don’t really notice a difference! My favourite cheap mascara brands are Maybelline and Rimmel. And of course, L’oreal Voluminous, which has been a huge fan fave for years!

Bronzer

My very first bronzer was from Physician’s Formula, and a lot of people still favor it over higher-end bronzers. I’ve also tried Rimmel, which has a great bronzer for lighter skin.

Shimmery Highlighter

I don’t see too much of a difference between higher end highlighters and the drugstore ones. Physician’s Formula has some great pearly ones, and one of my favorite things to do is to actually check out CoverGirl’s shimmery light colored eyeshadows and use them as highlighter! They tend to use a lot of shimmer in their shadows, which I think is too much for the eye area, but perfect for the tops of your cheekbones and nose bridge! Those are a few of my favorite drugstore makeup finds. How about you? What’s your fave cheap make up find?
